MICROBLADING

STEP 1:
INITIAL
SESSION

Whether you have no existing eyebrow hair or simply want to enhance your natural brows, semi-permanent brow tattoos can help to transform symmetry, thickness, density, and overall shape! Which techniques are used (such as microblading, machine shading, nano strokes, or a combination) will vary depending on each client's skin type and desired brow style. Not everyone is a candidate for cosmetic tattooing, so please be sure to read ALL FAQ's below.

DOES MICROBLADING LAST FOREVER?

Eyebrow tattoos are semi-permanent, meaning they will gradually fade over time. The pigment is implanted into the uppermost layers of the skin, whereas permanent tattoos enter the lower layers!

HOW LONG DO MICROBLADING APPOINTMENTS TAKE?

Appointments range from 2.5 to 3 hours. We allot plenty of time to complete proper paperwork, take before + after photos, and apply topical numbing. The majority of your appointment will be spent determining the size, shape and color of your brows that are best suited for your personal facial measurements and preferences. Upon completing your service, you will be given detailed aftercare instructions to follow at home!

HOW PAINFUL IS MICROBLADING?

Everyone’s pain threshold is different! We provide topical numbing (5% Lidocaine) for the first 20 minutes of each procedure to keep you comfortable, as well as a secondary numbing gel throughout the process.

WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS LIKE?

You'll see the most visible changes happening on the surface of your skin within the first 2 weeks of healing, but the lower layers of your skin take 6-10 weeks to fully heal (which is why we cannot make touch-up appointments or changes until then). Immediately after your service, you may see some redness and swelling around the treated area for about 24-48 hours, and will need to be diligent about blotting away any body fluids accumulating on the surface. Many results will look very bold, dark, and crisp for the first few days following your appointment as the pigment oxidizes, but will soften to be about 30-40% lighter once fully healed under the skin. It is completely normal to experience dryness, flakiness, blotchiness, or scabbing for the first 3-14 days after the procedure until the skin normalizes. You will not need any downtime before returning to work, attending events, etc.

IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO OR AVOID BEFORE MY MICROBLADING APPOINTMENT?

Getting your best healed result starts before your appointment! For 4 weeks prior, avoid indoor tanning beds, facials or anti-aging skincare treatments, and any skincare products containing retinols, AHAs, etc.. No sun exposure and waxing, tweezing, trimming or tinting your brows for at least 1 week prior to your appointment. DO NOT consume alcohol, fish oils, Vitamin E, or blood-thinning medications for 48 hours before your appointment, and absolutely no caffeine for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment (as these factors will impact the ability for pigment to deposit into your skin!)

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY MICROBLADED BROWS?

We go over this very in-depth at your appointment, but to summarize, you will need to completely avoid sweating, applying makeup to your brows, direct sun exposure, or submerging your brows underwater for the first 2 weeks of healing! The only time your brow tattoo should be getting wet in the first 10-14 days is when you wash them gently (AM/PM) with cool water, and the only products that should be touching them are the provided brow soap and healing balm. No facials, exfoliating skincare products, indoor tanning beds, Botox, or brow maintenance- such as waxing, tweezing, tinting, etc.- for at least 4 weeks following!
